The answer in 10 seconds#
Test a few redirects on one hosted hostname
Free has 10 rules and one hosted instance. Starter is €25/month on monthly billing.
Host a portfolio of brand, typo or retired domains
Root + www count as one RedirHub domain. Its Core domain capacity expands independently of managed links.
Move a website with 500 different old-to-new URLs
redirection.io Starter covers up to 1,000 rules at €25/month; RedirHub Core covers 2,500 managed links at $49/month. Your domain setup and next migration decide the value.
Work on redirects, HTTP logs and SEO rules inside your existing site stack
It can run as a managed service, through an agent in your infrastructure, or on premises.
Manage redirects alongside branded links and dynamic QR codes
All three live in the same product; branded links and dynamic QR destinations draw from managed-link capacity.
Decide first
Before comparing plan prices, decide where the redirects must run.
A hosted domain portfolio, a one-time migration and rules inside a live website can all redirect the same URL, but they require different infrastructure. The sections below show where the products overlap and where the choice is clearer.
1. A portfolio of brand, typo and retired domains#
Suppose your team owns 20 brand and typo domains today, expects to reach 100, and needs both example.com and www.example.com to work for each one. Most domains simply forward every incoming path to a chosen destination.
At 20 domain pairs: RedirHub Core is $49/month for 25 domains.[1] The root and its www version count together as one domain. A basic whole-domain redirect does not consume a managed link, so those 20 pairs fit the included domain capacity without spending the 2,500 managed links.
Managing 20 or more domain pairs? See what your current setup would cost on RedirHub.
Calculate your setupredirection.io takes a different approach. Rules can execute on unlimited domains, but its fully managed service has a separate instance allowance. Starter costs €25/month and includes five managed instances.[2] A root and www are two instances, so 20 pairs require 40 instances, 35 more than Starter includes. Additional managed instances are available after contacting redirection.io; its published range is €0.50–€1.50 per instance per month, depending on volume. At the low end of that range, its hosted bill could still be competitive. Get an actual quote rather than assuming RedirHub wins on price.
At 100 domain pairs: RedirHub Core's published domain step is $89/month for 100 domains and still includes 2,500 managed links. On redirection.io's fully managed service, those pairs need 200 managed instances, 195 above Starter's allowance. Applying its published additional-instance range gives an illustrative €122.50–€317.50/month including the €25 Starter plan, before any extra bandwidth. That is an arithmetic illustration, not a vendor quote or a currency-adjusted comparison. Confirm whether one project and the chosen rule tier cover your routing pattern.
The domain allowance is only part of redirection.io's hosted price: Starter includes 100 GB of monthly incoming and outgoing traffic, with extra bandwidth priced separately. If your domains already run through your own proxy or edge infrastructure, its hybrid deployment changes the calculation because the hosted-instance allowance need not be the deciding constraint.
Our call
For a growing, DNS-connected portfolio of straightforward redirects, start by sizing RedirHub's domain plan.
For a few domains, or if you already have a suitable web stack, price redirection.io first. Compare the actual hostname count, deployment method and traffic before purchasing. Check RedirHub's domain pricing.
2. A website migration: one rule or 500 mappings?#
A site with 500 pages does not automatically need 500 separately configured redirects.
If oldsite.com/pricing becomes newsite.com/pricing and paths follow the same pattern, a whole-domain redirect with path forwarding in RedirHub, or a wildcard rule in redirection.io, may cover the move. Test query strings, exclusions and a sample of important pages. If those paths change to different destinations, budget for individual mappings.
| For 500 separately configured destinations | redirection.io Starter | RedirHub Core |
|---|---|---|
| Monthly base price | €25 | $49 |
| Included relevant capacity | Up to 1,000 rules | 2,500 managed links |
| Other included capacity | Five managed instances; 100 GB managed traffic/month | 25 domains; unlimited requests |
| Migration workflow | Imports, crawler and redirect-map generator; advanced ruleset compliance testing on Pro | CSV import/export, hosted domain redirects, API and MCP |
A 500-rule migration fits redirection.io Starter's published rule allowance. That can be the sensible buy for a single site, especially if its crawler, HTTP logs or integration with your site are central to the project. Its crawler consumes separately priced crawl credits. Starter's detailed HTTP logs are retained for a week; its traffic statistics are available for three months. Its rules can execute without a per-execution limit.[3]
The same 500 distinct mappings use 500 of RedirHub Core's 2,500 managed links, leaving 2,000 for later migrations, branded links or dynamic QR destinations. Core includes 25 domains, unlimited requests and CSV import/export. If you plan to keep multiple retired domains and campaigns running after the move, that shared capacity is part of the decision.
Our call
Choose redirection.io Starter for a contained migration when 1,000 rules and its deployment limits cover the job.
Choose RedirHub if the migration is one part of a larger hosted redirect and link portfolio. If your paths stay the same, test the single-rule approach before pricing either platform by page count. Check RedirHub's migration capacity.
3. Redirects on a live website#
A store or publication may need more than old-to-new URL forwarding. Its team might inspect HTTP logs, crawl pages, test conflicting rules, and change SEO-related responses while the site continues to serve traffic.
This is a strong case for redirection.io. It offers a fully managed service, a hybrid agent in your infrastructure, and a quoted on-premise installation.[4] Its Pro plans start at €150/month and vary by rule capacity, with tiers up to 2 million rules. Pro includes advanced triggers and actions, ruleset compliance tests, two weeks of detailed logs and six months of traffic statistics. The public API is available to organizations with at least one Starter or Pro project.[5]
RedirHub Pro starts at $119/month with 250 domains and 10,000 managed links, plus destination monitoring, alerts and longer analytics history. Core and Pro include the management API and MCP. Those capabilities fit a team operating hosted redirects, branded links and QR codes across its domains. RedirHub is not an agent installed in your website's request path.

RedirHub counts a root domain and its www version together as one domain; another subdomain such as go.example.com counts separately. In redirection.io's fully managed service, the root and www are two managed instances. redirection.io's redirect rules can run across unlimited domains, which is a separate allowance from hosted instances.
No. If old and new URLs follow one consistent pattern, a whole-domain/path-forwarding or wildcard rule may cover many pages. Separate destinations for 500 paths require separate mappings or rules unless another tested pattern fits. In RedirHub, each individually managed migration mapping consumes one managed link.
It says redirect-rule executions are unlimited. Its detailed log lines have daily caps, and its fully managed instances have monthly bandwidth allowances. Those are three different measures.
It can be, particularly for a few domains or a hybrid deployment. With hosted apex/www pairs, count two redirection.io managed instances per pair, check the price for extras, and include bandwidth. Compare that quote with RedirHub's one-domain-per-pair allowance in the currency you actually pay.
Yes. RedirHub documents a management API, MCP and CSV import/export on Core. redirection.io documents CSV/JSON imports and a public API, with the API available to organizations that have at least one Starter or Pro project.
