Customer story · EZMarketing

The client was acquired. Its old Careers link still leads to the right page.

A Lancaster agency had already shut down the hosting. Then the client asked for its key pages to follow the domain to the new owner. Three redirect rules, live in ten minutes.

From EZMarketing's workspace, September 18 to October 7, 2026. The client's name and domains are withheld; the addresses shown are placeholders.

The request after the handover

EZMarketing built and ran the website for a manufacturing client. When that company was acquired, the agency forwarded the domain to the new owner at GoDaddy and offboarded the hosting.

A few weeks later the client came back. Could the old Careers and Contact pages go to the new site too? Registrar forwarding sends every URL to one address, so anyone following an old Careers link would land on a homepage and have to search again.

Why the usual fixes didn't fit

One option was to rent hosting again just to run a handful of redirect rules. The other was to ask the new owner's web team for a favor on a domain they didn't manage. Both were heavier than the problem.

GoDaddy really just forwards the main domain and not individual pages, so we wanted a simple alternative. RedirHub was the perfect solution to what we hope is a short-term issue.

Three rules instead of a server

Deb left the domain registered at GoDaddy, pointed its DNS at RedirHub, and set up three domain redirects. HTTPS was issued automatically. The first rule went live within two minutes of signing up; the last, ten minutes after.

What happened next

The old domain never went quiet. It still draws around 1,800 requests a day from returning visitors, bookmarks and search engines re-crawling old URLs, and every one now has a destination. When the client is ready, the rules can be paused or removed from the dashboard.

“Redirecting domain names with SSL is a huge pain, and I have to do it frequently, often at mass. Now it is a few clicks. It just works.”

“The redirect tool is particularly useful, especially for mass URL redirection and capturing old traffic from an unused subdomain to our main site.”
