The products start from different buyer jobs#

Cuttly's current product positioning[1] describes a complete link-management platform. The center of gravity is a shareable short link: brand it, distribute it, measure clicks, attach campaign controls, turn it into a QR code, or automate creation through an API.

RedirHub's current pricing model[2] starts from infrastructure capacity instead. Core is $49/month with 25 domains and 2,500 managed links. A managed link is one active branded link, dynamic QR destination, or website-migration source-to-destination mapping. A domain's basic whole-domain redirect does not consume managed-link capacity.

Those models can look similar when the job is "make this URL redirect," but they behave very differently when the workload grows.

Our call

Start with Cuttly when the thing you are optimizing is a campaign link.

Start with RedirHub when the thing you are operating is a redirect estate.

Cuttly's current pricing page[3] publishes true month-to-month rates and a separate annual option that saves one month:

  • Free $0, 30 short links/month, one branded domain and 30 days of analytics history.
  • Starter $12/month or $132/year, 300 short links/month and one branded domain.
  • Single $25/month or $275/year, 5,000 short links/month, five branded domains and one year of analytics history.
  • Team $99/month or $1,089/year, 20,000 short links/month, 10 branded domains, team features and two years of analytics history.
  • Team Enterprise $149/month or $1,639/year, 50,000 short links/month, 99 branded domains, larger teams, SSO and two years of analytics history.

The same pricing page lists unlimited link clicks. The short-link allowance is a monthly creation limit that resets each calendar month.

RedirHub Core is $49/month with 25 domains + 2,500 active managed links + unlimited requests. Pro is $119/month with 250 domains + 10,000 managed links, unlimited team members and longer analytics retention. Domain capacity and managed-link capacity can be expanded independently.

Cuttly clearly wins the sticker-price comparison for a professional marketing-link program that fits inside five branded domains. RedirHub Core costs more because it buys a different capacity shape: five times as many domains, an active inventory of managed redirects, and a whole-domain redirect model that is not charged as monthly link creation.

Our call

Do not pay RedirHub's higher base price just to shorten campaign URLs.

Do not choose Cuttly only because $25 is lower than $49 if the actual job is maintaining domains and migration mappings.

Website migrations expose the biggest difference#

A migration is not usually "create 500 shareable links." It is "keep 500 old URLs working, each with an explicit destination, while the old domain remains a durable redirect source."

RedirHub treats those old-to-new mappings as managed links. Core has room for 2,500 active mappings, and CSV import/export is available. The source domain can sit in the same workspace as the mapping set.

Cuttly also has real bulk tooling. Its official bulk-shortening guide[4] says CSV import creates one tracked short link per row. The dashboard CSV limits are 100 links/month on Single, 2,000 on Team and 5,000 on Team Enterprise. For higher-volume automation, Cuttly recommends its API.

That means Cuttly can technically create large batches of links. The difference is the job the workflow is designed around. If you have 500 migration mappings and want to load them through the dashboard CSV workflow in one month, Cuttly requires at least Team at $99/month because Single allows 100 CSV-created links. RedirHub Core can hold and import those 500 mappings inside its $49/month base capacity.

The comparison changes if the links are campaign assets rather than migration mappings. Cuttly Team's 20,000 new short links per month is much more generous for continuous link creation.

Our call

For a structured SEO or website migration, RedirHub is the more direct fit.

For a high-throughput marketing-link factory, Cuttly is often the better fit.

Custom domains: both need control of the hostname#

Cuttly is not limited to its shared cutt.ly domain. Its official branded-domain documentation[5] supports dedicated domains and subdomains using DNS A + TXT records. A custom domain can then host Cuttly short links and their analytics.

There is an important deployment constraint. Cuttly's own support page for domains that already host a website[6] says that changing the hostname's A record to Cuttly makes the existing content on that hostname unavailable. Cuttly therefore recommends a dedicated short domain or a subdomain such as go.example.com when the main website must keep running.

Paid Cuttly plans also support root/index and 404 redirects[7] for a connected custom domain. That is useful when someone visits the bare short domain or a slug that does not exist.

It would be unfair to present DNS control as a Cuttly-only drawback. A DNS-level redirect service needs control of the source hostname. If a root domain still serves a live site and only selected paths should redirect, those path rules generally need to remain at the application, web server or edge layer until the hostname itself can be handed over.

Where RedirHub differs is what happens once the hostname is being used as redirect infrastructure. RedirHub explicitly supports whole-domain catch-all forwarding, path and query forwarding, and separately managed migration mappings. A root domain can automatically cover its www variant when both use the same destination.

A/B routing: Cuttly has the stronger experiment controls#

Cuttly's link-rotation documentation[8] is explicitly about splitting traffic across multiple destinations for A/B testing. The current pricing surface gates the controls by plan: Single offers a two-destination 50/50 test, Team adds configurable percentages, and Team Enterprise adds configurable A/B/C testing.

RedirHub Pro supports multi-target redirects with Random and Sequential modes. Random distributes requests evenly across configured destinations and can support a simple A/B test. Sequential cycles through destinations in sequence. RedirHub does not claim custom per-destination weighting.

For a marketer testing 70/30 traffic, or three landing-page variants with custom percentages, Cuttly is the stronger fit. For a redirect operator that only needs equal random distribution or sequential routing inside a larger redirect estate, RedirHub's model is simpler and keeps that rule beside the rest of the domain infrastructure.

Our call

Choose Cuttly for configurable traffic-split experiments.

Choose RedirHub when multi-target routing is one redirect primitive inside a broader operations workflow.

Analytics and marketing tooling favor Cuttly#

Cuttly's pricing also makes its marketing orientation obvious. Single includes one year of analytics history; Team and Team Enterprise include two years. Higher plans add campaigns, aggregated analytics, team collaboration and deeper link controls. Cuttly also bundles link-in-bio pages, surveys and Action Pages into the same product.

RedirHub's approved analytics packaging is 90 days of click and scan data on Core and six months on Pro. RedirHub Pro adds detailed analytics and operational capabilities around the redirect estate, but it is not trying to be an all-in-one link-in-bio or survey platform.

So if a buyer's main question is "which campaign link performed better over the last year?", Cuttly is particularly attractive. If the question is "which old URLs, domains and QR destinations are we still responsible for operating?", RedirHub's narrower infrastructure model is often easier to reason about.

API and bulk automation: both are credible, but organized differently#

Cuttly's official API documentation[9] makes the Regular API available from Free, with plan-specific rate and monthly link limits. Team plans add a Team API for a shared workspace. One operational detail matters: Cuttly says API-created links live in a separate API URLs section from links created in the main dashboard.

RedirHub includes a management REST API and MCP tooling, plus CSV import/export and bulk update/delete operations. Those tools operate around the same Links model used for branded links, QR destinations and migration mappings.

Cuttly is compelling when an application, campaign system or automation needs to generate new short links continuously. RedirHub is compelling when an operator wants API, MCP and bulk tools to manage the redirect estate itself.

Frequently asked questions

For many branded-link and campaign workflows, yes. Cuttly Single is $25/month while RedirHub Core is $49/month. But the capacity units differ: Cuttly Single allows 5,000 new short links per month and five branded domains; RedirHub Core includes 25 domains and 2,500 active managed links with unlimited requests.

Yes. Cuttly supports custom domains and subdomains. Its current pricing includes one branded domain even on Free, rising to 99 on Team Enterprise. The connected hostname points to Cuttly through DNS A + TXT records.

Technically, Cuttly can use a root domain, but its own documentation warns that changing the root A record to Cuttly makes an existing website on that hostname unavailable. If the website must remain live, Cuttly recommends using a subdomain or a dedicated short domain.

Cuttly's paid custom-domain settings support a root/index redirect and a 404 redirect for unmatched short-link paths. The reviewed official sources do not establish the same website-migration mapping and whole-domain path-forwarding model that RedirHub documents, so those capabilities should not be treated as identical.

Cuttly is stronger when you need weighted experiments. Single supports a fixed 50/50 A/B test, Team supports custom-percentage A/B, and Team Enterprise supports A/B/C. RedirHub Pro supports equal Random routing and Sequential routing, without custom per-destination weights.

RedirHub is the clearer fit when a migration contains many old-to-new URL mappings or multiple retired domains. Cuttly can create links in bulk through CSV or API, but its product model is centered on short-link creation and campaign management rather than a persistent migration map.

Yes. Cuttly provides a REST API on all plans with plan-specific throughput and monthly link limits, plus a Team API on team plans. RedirHub includes its management API and MCP tooling alongside CSV and bulk link operations.
